FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT SYSTEM (FAS) DESCRIPTORS
Mentors will support new teachers in developing a comprehensive behavior management plan, aligned with the district’s two models, Safe and Civil Schools CHAMPs Framework and Conscious Discipline. Mentors and new teachers will co-develop standards for student behavior; co-plan procedures and routines; brainstorm ways to build relationships with students and build student cooperation and responsibility. Mentors will review the completed plan and will support its implementation through their own classroom observations of the new teacher’s classroom practice.
